About This Spot

Stepping into Salt & Pepper Restaurant feels like entering a calm, welcoming haven tucked within the vibrant surroundings of Muscat’s Al Mysk Hotel. The pace here is unhurried, inviting you to settle in and savor the gentle rhythms of a place where thoughtful hospitality meets a genuine appreciation for flavor and warmth. Soft murmurs of conversation blend with subtle background melodies, creating an atmosphere that is both relaxed and quietly refined—perfect for lingering over a meal or gathering with close company.

At Salt & Pepper, every visit feels like a quietly curated food journey, drawing from a rich tapestry of global inspirations that reflect the cultural crossroads of Oman itself. The menu is a thoughtful collection of soulful, satisfying dishes that seem to echo the seasons and local ingredients. Imagine the comforting embrace of spiced pumpkin soup served alongside freshly baked garlic salt bread, or the bright zest of lemongrass and kaffir lime elevating tender chicken tikka. Each plate seems crafted with care to bring out both familiar warmth and unexpected nuance.

The kitchen’s creative spirit is felt in specialties like the prawn risotto — a lush dish where each bite carries the freshness of the sea — or the Moroccan-spiced double lamb chops, delivering complexity without overwhelming. This is a place where traditional Lebanese mezzeh complements creamy hummus and crisp pita, inviting a shared, communal dining experience. Meanwhile, the absence of alcohol softens the mood here, encouraging a focus on the flavors and conversations that make meals memorable.

Salt & Pepper is known not just for its diverse menu but also for the genuine kindness that flows through its staff. Their attentiveness resonates with visitors, making each guest feel understood and cared for, whether during a lively Friday buffet or a quiet breakfast. It’s a space that doesn’t rush you, where portions feel generous and the focus remains on comfort and connection.

For those who appreciate a setting that blends thoughtful cuisine with moments of sincere hospitality, Salt & Pepper offers a quietly rewarding experience—one that unfolds gradually, leaves the senses satisfied, and invites a return not just for the food but for the feeling of being genuinely welcome.

Morning Breakfast at Al Mysk Hotel Stepping into Salt & Pepper for breakfast at the Al Mysk Hotel is a delightful start to any day. Located within the charming Al Mysk Hotel, the restaurant offers a serene and inviting atmosphere perfect for a leisurely morning meal. The breakfast spread at Salt & Pepper is impressive, catering to a variety of tastes. From classic continental options like freshly baked pastries, a selection of cheeses, and cold cuts, to a hearty hot buffet featuring eggs cooked to order, sausages, and local specialties, there's truly something for everyone. The quality of the ingredients shines through, with fresh fruits bursting with flavor and perfectly brewed coffee to kickstart your day. I particularly enjoyed the live egg station, where the chef prepared my omelette exactly as I liked it, filled with fresh vegetables. Beyond the food, the ambiance of Salt & Pepper contributes significantly to the overall experience. The natural light flooding in creates a bright and airy space, while the tasteful decor and comfortable seating make for a relaxed dining environment. It's a place where you can comfortably enjoy your meal, whether you're dining alone, with family, or for a business breakfast. The service at Salt & Pepper is consistently excellent. The staff are attentive, friendly, and efficient, ensuring that your coffee cup is always full and any requests are promptly met. Their warm hospitality adds a personal touch that enhances the dining experience. In conclusion, Salt & Pepper at Al Mysk Hotel offers a fantastic breakfast experience. Foods are so delicious. There is no alcohol which is huge plus. Only my suggestion would be that Musics on the place should be local Omani or Arabic instrumentals not Westerns/Americans blues.

The staff are some of the best I’ve encountered, extra kind and helpful. The food was plenty, the portion was too big for one person and it tasted super delicious.

A lovely restaurant. The food was good, although the mixed grill could have been better. The lasagne was delicious.

One of the best seafood restaurants in the area. The meat platter was also very good, though the prices were a bit on the higher side compared to other restaurants around the bay. The waiters were very attentive. I definitely recommend this place!
